Socks are Perfect Summer Knitting

Socks are Perfect Summer Knitting

When the weather hits its peak - and British summer have really been hitting record highs in recent years - it can sometimes be hard to bring out your woolly jumper to work on in the sunshine. Which is totally understandable, but also sucks!

Socks are the ideal solution to this. They're small, lightweight, and yarns such as West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply is a breathable wool nylon blend so your hands don't get as sticky. They work the same way in your hands as you knit with its, as it does when you wear them on your feet. They keep you cooler when it's hot and warmer when it's cold. Proper wool is truly magic!

There's nothing better than good knitted socks, and we love taking advantage of the hot weather to start getting our winter knitting on the go - you'll be thankful come autumn when you've got some cosy socks to wear.

I practice what I preach - this summer I've been doing lots of sock knitting in the garden. Here I'm using WYS Signature 4ply Solid colour "Pacific" as the contrast cuff and heel colour, and the new "Small Tortoiseshell" Butterfly colour way from the new collection launched this summer.
